3 held for 2 murders in Palamu

In a double murder case wherein father and daughter were shot dead on Wednesday evening here at Shahpur in Palamu police have cracked the case and sent three youths to jail here on Friday said SP, Palamu, Indrajeet Mahatha.

One of the youths arrested Rahul K Paswan has confessed to his crime and police have recovered his country made pistol, which was loaded. Rahul said he had killed father Surinder Pd Gupta and his daughter Jaya Gupta alias Shilpi said the SP here on Friday.

The murder of the father and the daughter was all due to a relationship between Rahul and Shilpi which the father Surinder had never approved of. Surinder’s driver Rajesh Kumar Paswan led a very bad role as it was he used to pass on all information to Rahul who is his friend.

Lalit joined Rahul just for the sake of friendship.

Rahul and Surinder had always a bad relation over Shilpi which culminated in the death of Surinder and his daughter Shilpi as Rahul first killed Surinder the father and then he killed Shilpi. Both were shot to death at point blank range.

The SP was of the view that if the father had told the police about Rahul pressuring him for his daughter Shilpi then police would have taken care of Rahul but it was not so.

The SP made it clear this twin murder is not even remotely any political or crime by a gang but by a person Rahul here in this case whom the father daughter knew very well for the last 6 years.

SP Palamu thanked Garhwa SP Shivani Tiwary for help as all three Rahul, Rajesh and Lalit come from Garhwa district. Except Rajesh the other two were caught in Garhwa with the help of Garhwa police added SP.

Police recovered desi katta, 4 cartridges and two cell phones said SP.

Meanwhile, in another incident a minor dalit boy is alleged to have raped a minor dalit girl at a village (name withheld) under Naudeeha Bazar police station here in Palamu.

Confirming this SP Palamu Indrajeet Mahatha said the minor girl was out in the jungle today to collect dry wood for her family when this dalit boy is alleged to have pounced upon her and outraged her modesty.

The girl has been brought down to government sadar hospital in Daltonganj for a medical checkup and thereafter her statement under section 164 of CrPC will be recorded by a judicial magistrate.

The victim and the victimizer both come from the same village and know each other said SP. The minor is yet to be held as his parents have made him underground said sources.
