New Delhi, Taking cognisance of a complaint from a daughter of Air India passenger that a ‘drunk’ co-passenger had peed on the ‘seat’ in a flight from John F Kennedy International Airport in New York to Delhi, the government on Saturday asked the state-run aviation company to act on the same and report the matter to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Union Minister of State for Aviation Jayant Sinha also asked the Air India to report on the matter to the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Mr Sinha tweeted, “Air India please follow up immediately and report back to MoCA / DGCA. Very unfortunate that your mother had to go through this harrowing experience”.
He responded to a missive from one Indrani Ghosh.”Disgraceful Air India yesterday on your flight AI 102 from JFK to Delhi a drunk passenger removed his pants and peed on the seat my mother was sitting! She was traveling alone and is completely traumatized! Reply ASAP”.
