Former Puducherry minister A Kasilingam died here on Thursday night after a prolonged illness.

Kasilingam (88) is survived by his wife Nagarathinam, three sons and two daughters.
Kasilingam was ailing for quite sometime as both his kidneys had failed. He died around 10 pm last night at his Muthialpet residence. The funeral took place on Friday evening.
Kasilingam was elected to the territorial assembly on AIADMK ticket from Muthialpet constituency in 2001.
He was the Social Welfare Minister in the Congress-AIADMK coalition government led by P Shanmugham.
