A division bench headed by Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari gave the permission while directing the Palike to complete the said process by September 4.
Earlier, V Sreenidhi, counsel for BBMP, informed the court that the civic body had received responses from 1,800 of the 4,178 owners of unlicensed hoardings/structures to the public notice issued in early August. He further said around 400 applicants responded three days after the August 20 deadline and owners of a little over 2,000 buildings/properties haven’t responded.
Submit details, says court
The bench directed the BBMP to submit details of officials who filed FIR in two cases pertaining to illegal flexes/hoardings, which culminated in filing of B report. The court wondered why the FIR was registered if there was no case. This was after advocate-general Uday Holla informed the court that the accused in 228 cases (pertaining to illegal flexes/hoardings) have pleaded guilty, and in two cases, B report has been filed as the instances date back to 2016 .
The court also directed uploading of details of those pleading guilty in the State Crime Records Bureau.
