GURUGRAM: A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Daultabad village after an
argument with his father over property. His body was found
hanging from a tree in a
graveyard on Friday morning. Police have handed over the body to his family after post-mortem and are investigating the case.
Sonu, originally from
Kharkhoda village, settled in Daultabad several years ago. Cops said passersby noticed Sonu’s body and informed police around 8am on Friday. A police team soon reached the spot and found the body hanging from a tree with a rope. With the help of the mobile phone and some documents in his pocket, they identified Sonu and informed his family.
Sonu, who got married in 2012, had divorced his wife three years ago and was living with his elderly father since then, police said.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that Sonu had an argument with his father on Thursday night over construction on their ancestral land. He left home after the argument and was found hanging from a tree the next morning. However, no suicide note has been found. We’ve handed over the body to kin after the post-mortem and are investigating the matter,” said inspector Shailender Singh, SHO of Rajendra Park police station.
