जैन मुनि तरुण सागर का निधन
Muni Tarun Sagar was a Digambara monk. His lectures are termed Kadve Pravachan (bitter discourses) because they can be candidly critical of common practices and views.
His lectures have been compiled and published in book series also titled Kadve Pravachan. Excerpts from his discourses are often published by newspapers.
Unlike most other Digambar jain monks, his audience often includes a majority of non-Jains. His discourses often address family or society issues, topics generally avoided by other Jain monks.
Due to his revolutionary discourses, Tarun Sagar had become popular in a short period of time. Madhya Pradesh government granted him state guest status on February 6, 2002 and the Gujarat Government on March 2, 2003. He had said that if a person is unhappy about your reason then understand that this is the biggest sin for you. You can get the virtue of such a work-core that people will shed tears after you go away.
His real name was Pawan Kumar Jain. He was born on June 26, 1967 in Guhji village in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. His mother’s name was Shantibai Jain and father’s name was Pratap Chandra Jain. It is said that he left home on March 8, 1981, at the age of 14. His education was initiated in Chhattisgarh.
Although he belongs to the Digambara sect, he promotes a non-sectarian outlook. In 2013 at Jaipur, he joined the Śvētāmbara monks during his chaturmas. In 2014, he inspired a Dharma Sansad, which was attended by Acharyas of Śvētāmbara Terapanth, Sthānakavāsī and Murtipujaka sects.
