Meet India’s first transgender cab driver who holds an MBA degree

Meghna Sahoo, a resident of Bhubaneswar, is India’s first transgender cab driver. 30-year-old Meghna holds an MBA degree in Human Resources and Marketing. Due to her gender identity, she faced discrimination and rejection at her workplace and she switched jobs frequently in the hope of being treated at par with others. She said that life has become easier for their community post Supreme Court order for recognisation of transgenders as ‘third gender’. She also disclosed that women travellers feel safe while commuting in her cab.
