Jamshedpur FC announced the signing of one of the biggest names of Australian football, Tim Cahill, on Saturday.
Cahill will be trying out his first Asian venture after announcing his retirement from international football.
Cahill, who scored 50 goals in 107 appearances for Australia, will definitely be one of the biggest draws in the Indian Super League this season.
The 38-year-old attacking midfielder, who had an impressive eight- year spell with Everton in his 20-year-old club career, has given a big boost to the aspirations of Jamshedpur FC.
“I am excited to be part of the Indian Super League. It has been an easy process to make this decision because of the Jamshedpur FC’s professionalism and the goals they have set.
“To be a part of their project is massive for me because I know I can help the team on and off the park with my leadership and experience. I want to help the game grow in India,” Cahill, who was also a part of the Australian team that won the continental crown, the AFC Asian Cup, in 2015, said.
