Rafale: Congress to hold countrywide protest

The Congress will never keep silent on the most deceitful Rafale deal that has cost dear to the entire nation as well as to the country’s exchequer.

This nothing but a blot in the history of the country and also on a crucial matter like defence, said AICC spokesperson Pawan Khera while addressing the mediapersons here on Friday.

Khera told that the party is determined to take the ‘Rafale deal scam’ from ‘Sansad se Sadak’ (Parliament to street).

“The Rafale scam is a case of squandering national interest and causing loss to public exchequer promoting a culture of crony capitalism at the cost of public sector undertaking,” Khera added.

He further questioned: “Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi explain as to why an extra amount of Rs 41,205 crore is being paid from public money for the fighter jets?”

He asked why the PM reduced the number of fighter aircrafts required for the Indian Air Force from 126 to 36.

He again questioned why Modi offered a bounty of Rs 1,30,000 crore worth of defence contract to a private company bypassing the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited . “Not just the Congress, but the people of the country want a reply from the PM who always speaks big on his party and himself,” said Khera. “We have already raised the issue in the Parliament.

We will stage protest across the country over the crucial issue in the days to come,” he added.

The Congress spokesperson further said that what has been done in India and Odisha, it is by the Congress only. “Not BJP but only Congress can bring ‘Achhe Din’ for the people of the country,” Khera and all others present in the media conference boasted.
