Hara Hua... A leaf from Alexander’s life

Another aspect of Porus and Alexander’s lives was showcased in the Hindi play ‘Hara Hua Sikander’. The play was performed at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum here on Friday. The play was performed under the regular series of drama ‘Abhinayan’

It is to be noted that every Friday a new play is performed at Tribal Museum for the theatre buffs of the city. Directed by Bhanu Prakash Tiwari, the play is written by Jagdish Chawla. The entire play revolves around the personal life of Greek King Alexander and Indian King Porus.

The undefeatable king Alexander (better known as Sikander) the Great reached India to conquer it. But on his way was the real obstacle and equally able king Porus. This play was prepared by keeping in view the love life of Alexander. Sikander when moved out of his comfort zone to conquer the world, his love interest Ruksana is worried about him.

Sikander had been on his journey for a long time and Ruksana hasent heard from him. She sets out in his search and reached India. SShe becomes a guest at Porus’s Palace and both of them crete a beautiful bond of brother and sister. Now at this time Sikander reached India and announced a war against it.

Ruksana reveals to Porus, that Sikander is her love and she is soon going to marry him. Ruksana tells Porus not to kill Sikander as she really loves him and can’t live without him.

Porus was stuck between duty and deed. On one side it was the future of his country and on the other side it was his sister and her love. During the course of these ideological conflicts, Porus choose deed and let Sikander win the war.
