CM inaugurates VC, App for RTI appeals hearing

Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that due to the online process of hearing of appellant in Jharkhand State Information Commission, time and resources will be saved and availability of timely information will be ensured. Under Right to Information Act, 2005 provide information under the stipulated time frame is the priority of the government. The CM said this while inaugurating video conferencing system and mobile app for hearing of appellants by Jharkhand State Information Commission at Project Building on Friday.

The Chief Minister said that in the first phase, six districts of Santhal Pargana will have RTI appellant hearing through video conferencing from Jharkhand State Information Commission and mobile app.

The Chief Minister directed the Lokayukta Court and the State Food Commission to implement the online system to expedite hearing. He said that due to the implementation of the online system, the appellant and public information officers will not have to come to Ranchi from remote districts. The Chief Minister said that with maximum use of IT the role of intermediaries will be eliminated. Promote online system in the district and block levels so public become aware of it.

The Chief Minister said that the district administration is also using IT. Use of IT in district offices is commendable. IT is an important tool in providing complete information of government schemes to the public.

After the launch of online video conferencing and mobile App, the Chief Minister talked to Deoghar DC Rahul Kumar Sinha through video conferencing. While thanking, the Deputy Commissioner said that, it is very important public utility system. With the introduction of this arrangement the public will be able to connect directly to the concerned departments through video conferencing. He said that this system should be arranged in the High Court and Lokayukta Court to expedite execution of complaints.

On this occasion, Chief Information Commissioner Aditya Swaroop, Information Commissioner Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary, Chairman of State Food Commission Sudhir Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal and others were present.
