Lok Sabha, Assembly polls may be held together: Nath


BHOPAL : Congress state president Kamal Nath has expressed that Lok Sabha and Assembly polls may take place together. Nath told media persons at Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office on Saturday, that the matter must have been serious when BJP national president Amit Shah had written to the Election Commission of India about hold simultaneous polls.

Nath said he had not decided over contesting assembly polls. Nath said Lok Sabha polls would take place four months after assembly polls. They may take place together and that is why he had not taken any decision on contesting election.

Nath, on the issue of former CM Babulal Gaur praising him, said Gaur was a genuine person. On the question of inviting Gaur to join Congress, Nath said he would invite Shivraj Singh too to join Congress.


Nath said that during his tenure as union minister for urban development MP got the biggest fund allocation of around Rs 5000 crore from the centre.

He said this information was provided by NDA government’s minister for rural development Hardeep Puri in his reply to a letter.

Nath said that employment policy was not sound and youths could not get jobs so unemployment is the biggest problem in the MP. Investors are not coming due to corruption in the state.

Nath said he had toured eleven districts and  Jyotiraditya Scindia and other leaders were busy in campaigning work.

Defeat is not the end of party: Yadav

Youth Congress, national president Keshavchand Yadav, who was present with Kamal Nath at the press conference, said he would bring a demand letter across the country. It has demanded unemployment allowance, providing forms of examination free of cost, increasing admission seats in colleges and reduction in fees. Yadav, on the issue of Congress facing defeats, said defeat does not mean the end of the party.
