Vadodara: With the dust surrounding M S University Students Union (MSUSU) elections settling down, a new row seems to be developing between the newly elected general secretary (GS) and vice-president (VP) of the students union.
MSUSU GS Vraj Patel on Saturday approached students’ union president demanding that the latter should intervene to ensure that the first meeting of the newly elected body is held at the earliest.

Patel in a memorandum submitted to the union president has stated that the union VP is supposed to convene meeting of the new body within 10 days of the declaration of the results.

“Even as eight days have passed, neither the faculty representatives nor the GS has received any intimation for the meeting,” Patel has stated in his representation.

In another representation, Patel has also approached university authorities complaining that the officials of Faculty of Law have introduced changes in the pattern of internal examination without prior intimation to the students.

According to him, bachelor’s courses students of the faculty were so far given 20 marks based on their performance in presentation and 10 marks for theory during internal examination.

The GS claimed that the faculty has suddenly changed the weightage of theory to 30 marks while there is no focus on presentation skills of students.

Patel has threatened to launch an agitation if the faculty does not change its decision.
