Pulse farmers to get incentives of Rs 1,500 per acre

State Government has announced incentives for the chickpeas (Chana) growing farmers (Rabi year 2017-18) for financial year 2018-19 under which they would get Rs 1,500 per acre, thus total Rs 118.54 crore would be distributed.

Agriculture and Bio-Technology department officials said that the fund allocation has been issued by Directorate of agriculture. Directorate of Agriculture would make the allocation as per the demand raised by district collectors.

As per the order issued, the incentive amount would be paid directly into the bank accounts under Direct Benefit Transfrer (DBT) process by the concerned district collectors. For transparency the distribution list along with the specified amount would be put on the village Panchayat notice board.

The decision was taken in the recent cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister to provide incentive to the chickpea growers. Agriculture minister Brijmohan Agrawal had directed the department officials to ensure the distribution of the incentive to the farmers at the earliest. The circular has been issued to all concerned officials with criteria for eligibility and payment process. The circular has been issued to secretary revenue and natural calamity management, Commissioner, land records, director, agriculture, MD State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation along with all five revenue division commissioners and all 27 district collectors. The incentive has to be given as per the present area of cropping.
