The Tirumala-based TTD Joint Executive Officer K.S. Srinivasa Raju on Saturday said that all the Brahmotsavam related works are nearing completion.
Speaking to the media, he said enough care is being taken for the grand conduct of the nine-day annual festival that shall take off to a colourful start with Dwajarohanam on 13th of this month. The Mada streets, through which the two-time daily processions of the Lord will be organised, have been spruced up for the purpose. The seating capacity along the Mada streets has been increased at two places. Painting works on the ghat road as well as at galleries are nearing completion. Works aimed at augmenting the facilities on the road leading to the free meals complex from the bus station are also being taken up at a fast pace. Special arrangements are in place for ‘Garuda Seva’ scheduled on 17th of this month. Amidst expectations that there shall be a heavy turnout in the pilgrim crowd required precautions are being taken to ensure that the day passes out without any incident.
The management has also primed itself for the ‘vastram presentation’ ceremony on 13th of this month wherein Chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will discharge the mandatory religious obligation on behalf of the State government at 6.45 pm soon after the Dwajarohanam festival. Later he will also take part in the procession of Pedda Sesha Vahanam — the first Vahana Seva.
