Maharashtra: Two arrested for sacrificing 2-year-old boy while looking for treasure in Nagpur

On Wednesday, the body of a 2-year-old boy was found strangled to death inside a haystack in Nagpur. The police have suspected this as a case of human sacrifice. And the cops have also arrested two persons for allegedly sacrificing the boy while looking for a treasure.

According to Indian Express, the 2-year-old boy was identified as Yug Meshram, who had gone missing on August 22 while he was playing with his brother Hurshal (4). When Hurshal returned home alone after being unable to find Yug, his father Ashok immediately went to police lodged a missing complaint in Bramhpuri police.

After this, police formed teams to look for the child, and during the investigation, the cops found about the two neighbours, Sunil Bankar and Pramod Bankar, who practice black magic. “On Wednesday, we found Yug’s body hidden in a haystack behind the residence of the accused. When questioned, they spilled the beans. We arrested them,” said Chandrapur SP Maheshwar Reddy. Both the accused are related to each other.

The police official further added, “They sacrificed the boy due to the blind faith, the boy had three whirls in his hair and was born with his feet first, hence he was an ideal sacrifice. They smothered him to death on the night of August 23 after performing black magic rituals.” The police have booked Sunil Bankar and Pramod Bankar under sections Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act and Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
