SPPU to compete in cricket tournament in Kashmir

PUNE: A team of 14 teaching and non-teaching staff from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) will compete in ‘16th All India Vice-Chancellor Trophy-T20 tournament’ in Kashmir. 

The 16-day T-20 cricket tournament will start from August 29 to September 13 and held in Srinagar. Around 20 universities from across the country will participate in this competition. 

Former cricketer of SPPU Nitin Saamal has selected 14 boys to compete in the tournament, said Director of Sports and Physical Education Department Deepak Mane.

Manish Gaikwad (captain), Sunil Mate, Deepak Gajarmal, Santosh Sugade, Nitin Prasad, Basvant Gajalvaar, Vinod Narke, Sunil Kadam, Basvaraj Bhure, Sameer Dive, Sushant Bulbule, Mangesh Kudve, Shantanu Kashid and Santosh Mahasulkar.
