CLAIM AND CLAIMEE
A website -- www.gurugovt.com -- has been posting about government job openings. The website’s top panel has tabs named - 10th and 12th pass jobs, government jobs in Bihar, government jobs in Delhi, exam date, Indian Army jobs, Railway jobs etc.. Here is a screengrab of a widget on the website with the title “Recent Post: Gurugovt” -

The website talks in detail about various job openings in the Indian Army and announced recruitment rallies in different states. The website mentions the authentic Indian Army websites but the recruitment rallies announced on this website are fake. This is an example -

The website also has social media handles and such recruitment calls are shared from those as well.

VERIFICATION
The official Twitter handle of Assam Police tweeted an advisory on the fake recruitment rallies that are being publicised by websites like gurugovt. Here is the advisory -

METHODOLOGY
We checked the official websites of the Indian Army -- www.indianarmy.nic.in -- and that of the Territorial Army -- www.territorialarmy.in -- to see if there are any notifications about such job openings. On the website of the Territorial Army, we could find a tab that reads “Notification for civilian candidates” and on clicking it, a downloadable notification opens.

At the end of the notification, it is categorically specified that the candidates are requited to apply online at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in only and that no other mode is allowed for the submission of applications.

We also came across other websites like www.rajobs.in, www.dyarakotijobs.com and www.joinindianarmyi.com (notice the extra “i”?) that spread similar fake messages about recruitment.

VERDICT

Times Fact-Check team found the announcements of job recruitment rallies on gurugovt.com to be fake.
