The JNUTA has written to Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar, seeking removal of JNU V-C M. Jagadesh Kumar.
The JNUTA said that in a referendum on August 7, the JNU faculty voted overwhelmingly in favour of removal of the V-C as the experience in the past two and a half years had convinced them that he was solely responsible for several acts of commission and omission on the part of JNU administration that were destroying the university. “We are pained to report to you that Prof. Kumar has broken down all deliberative processes in the university and reduced its authoritative to a farce,” the teachers wrote. “We cannot participate in a process of destruction of an institution that belongs to the people of India and must remain committed to serving them and their aspirations for progress.”
