New Delhi, The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned to January second week, the issue pertaining to scrapping of Article 35-A in Jammu and Kashmir.
A three-judge bench of the court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra, fixed the matter for further hearing to January second week.
The court heard various parties, including the Centre, Jammu and Kashmir and several petitioners, in the case and deferred it to January second week.
The three-judge bench of the court also comprised of Justices A M Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud, besides the CJI Misra.The Jammu and Kashmir government had earlier moved an application before the Supreme Court seeking adjournment of the sensitive matter in the case, citing that the upcoming panchayat and urban local body elections are going to be held.
