Indore: Frustrated over constant rise in dengue and malaria patients in the city, chief medical and health officer Dr HN Nayak pulled up malaria department officials on Thursday. He reprimanded the staff for not attending daily meetings on measures taken to control the diseases and also for not informing him about the cases.
Meanwhile, four more dengue patients were identified in the city on Thursday, which took the total tally to 119. Fresh cases were reported in Ajay Bagh Colony, Azad Nagar, GRP Police Line and Airport Road area. The patients are between 21 to 31 years of age.
“Officials of malaria department were not attending daily meeting for reporting the work. We had also directed the department officials to screen patients of viral diseases coming to government hospitals but found lack of seriousness in their work,” Dr Nayak said. He said department has been running fever clinics at the hospitals for treating the patients.
Ayushman Bharat nodal officer’s removal
Dr Nayak sent a letter to officials in Bhopal to remove nodal officer of Ayushman Bharat Scheme Dr Dharmendra Jain for being negligent in his work. Dr Jain is also the district malaria officer. According to sources, Dr Nayak was not satisfied with the work progress of Ayushman Bharat scheme, which will be launched on September 25.
