BJP members clash over grant allotment

Rajkot: Two groups of elected BJP members in Rajkot taluka panchayat clashed over allotment of grant for their respective villages during a meeting held on Thursday at the taluka panchayat office.
Hardevsinh Jadeja from Raj Samadhiyara alleged that he was beaten up by about 15 other members of the taluka panchayat for opposing grant of Rs 1crore to Madhapar, Khokhaddad and Sardhar villages and demanding grant for his village Raj Samadhiyara.

Jadeja further alleged that one of the rival group members also pointed a gun at him during the meeting before thrashing him.

B M Kataria, police inspector at Pradhyuman Nagar police station, said, “According to Jadeja’s complaint, we have registered an offence against the accused who have been booked for rioting and assault.”
