After Manikandan (38), of Solaialagupuram, did not return home on August 24, a ‘man missing’ case was filed with Jaihindpuram police, said sources. 

He allegedly had an illicit affair with the wife of one Saravanan, who reportedly had rebuked his wife and also warned Manikandan of dire consequences. 

Also, he and his friends hatched a plot to kill the victim after taking a tour with him. They reportedly murdered him at Vattakanal and dumped his body there. Kodaikanal police have arrested four persons, including Sabari, Maharajan, Srinivasan and Raja, in this connection, sources said. Rescue personnel are engaged in the task of retrieving the body, sources added.
