BJP slams Congress for criticizing noteban decision of govt

ONKAR SINGH / NEW DELHI

BJP today slammed Congress for criticizing the noteban decision of the government. Rejecting Rahul Gandhi’s charges on demonetisation, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged the Congress and its leadership are worried after the noteban as their unaccounted money has become junk. He said noteban hit naxal activities and generation of black money.

The spokesperson also rejected the Congress President’s allegations against the government on Rafale aircraft deal. He said Mr Gandhi is repeating unsubstantiated charges which have since been countered by the NDA government.

Earlier, addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the only objective of noteban was to help certain big corporates. He said demonetisation was not a mistake but, what he described, a deliberate move by the government to help friends. He also demanded constitution of a Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Rafale aircraft deal.
