THANE : Thirty persons were
arrested by the Thane crime branch for allegedly indulging in
gambling in a hotel room late on Tuesday night.
N T Kadam, assistant commissioner of police, said, acting on a tip off the team arrested the men who were playing the game using plastic coins.
The police said that cash amounting to Rs 2.78 lakh was also seized.
One Mangesh Bhosale was running the gambling den and he is said to be absconding. A manhunt has been launched to nab him. According to the police almost all of those on the game were from
Gujarat. An offence has been registered by the Rabodi police station.
