Teenager ‘sexually abuses’ 10-year-old
The Marathahalli police have detained a 17-year-old PU student for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy who lived next door.
The victim, a class five student, had returned from school, when the PU student invited him over to his house promising him snacks. He allegedly sexually assaulted him and the incident came to light when the boy returned home sick and in pain. When his family asked him what happened, he narrated the ordeal. He was taken to a hospital where doctors confirmed that he had been abused.
Based on a complaint by the boy’s family, the Marathahalli police detained the juvenile under the Juvenile Justice Act. He was produced before the Child Welfare Committee, which after conducting an inquiry, remanded him in the state home for boys for rehabilitation.
