Actor-politician Nandamuri Harikrishna was cremated with state honours at Mahaprasthanam in Jubilee Hills here on Thursday.
Harikrishan, son of former AP Chief Minister late NT Rama Rao was killed in a road accident on Wednesday when the car he was driving crashed into the median at Anneparthy in Nalgonda district.
Politicians from both Telugu states, VIPs and celebrities joined the funeral procession of Harikrishna which started from his residence at Masab Tank.
Earlier in the day, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Transport Minister M Mahender Reddy, senior Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury, YSRCP Members of Parliament Vijay Sai Reddy and Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, and several ministers and politicians from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh paid their last respects to the departed soul at his residence in Masab Tank.
‘Frank person’
Venkaiah Naidu consoled the family members including his actor sons Kalyan Ram and Junior NTR and said that Harikrishna was a straightforward person.
Film producer D Suresh Babu, actor Nagarjuna, Brahmanandam, Tanikella Bharani, Jaya Pradha, Manchu Laxmi, Manchu Manoj, Jagapati Babu and Ali were also present.
Fans and supporters of Nandamuri family and Telugu Desam Party in large numbers participated in the last journey.
During the funeral procession, Harikrishna’s brother-in-law and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, former Supreme Court judge, Justice Jasti Chelameswar and family members were seen carrying the body for the last journey.
