Relief sent by industrialists for rain-ravaged Kerala

With the contribution of industries, SIIDCUL Manufacturers’ Association has sent relief materials for the flood victims in Kerala on Tuesday. The District Magistrate Deepak Rawat flagged off the truck, carrying relief materials, including medicines, torches, towels and ORS packets. The truck was flagged off from the DM’s camp office at Roshanabad.

DM Rawat said that the industrialists of SIIDCUL had been given the list of the required items by Kerala House based in New Delhi through the district disaster management authority.

The disaster management officer Meera Kaintura said that the department had released toll free phone numbers 1077 and 7055258800 for those who wished to contribute to the Chief Minister’s relief fund meant for the purpose. “Every contribution for the flood-ravaged people of the southern State would be highly appreciated,” she said.

DM appreciated the humane gesture of the SIIDCUL Manufacturers Association for the victims of the rain’s fury.  

Speaking to The Pioneer, the president of SIIDCUL Manufacturers Association of Uttarakhand Harendra Garg said, “Our association members are always ready to serve humanity and on just one call, the industrialists reach out to the hapless victims of natural calamities. Whenever and wherever there is a calamity, we contribute, be it in Bihar or in Nepal or at Kedarnath. We  promptly send the relief materials through NDRF.”
