CHENNAI: The Congress on Wednesday welcomed DMK president M K Stalin's attack on BJP and his resolve to prevent saffronisation of the country. Stalin's stand would end speculations about a possible alliance between DMK and the BJP in the state, said Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president S Thirunavukarasar.
"DMK president Stalin has clearly expressed his resolve to fight BJP's divisive politics. I welcome his statement. This will also put a firm full stop to speculations about a possible electoral alliance between the DMK and the BJP," TNCC president S Thirunavukarasar told reporters here in Chennai on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, after taking over as the new president of the DMK, Stalin called upon party leaders and cadre to join him in fighting BJP’s attempts to saffronise the country.

"We have to come together to prevent saffronisation of this country. If needed, we can take a few steps back, only to move forward. Let us join hands to teach the Modi government -- which seeks to paint the country in saffron colour -- a lesson,” Stalin said.
