Punjab Assembly: 10,000 Sarpanches face corruption complaints. More than 10,000 outgoing Sarpanches have been facing corruption charges. Disclosing it in the house, the Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said that developments works would be started after the rural polls.

The issue was raised by the MLA Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar from Akali Dal who said that the government has stopped the ongoing works, which have been creating the obstructions in general life. Minister told that permission cannot be granted to such Sarpanches, who have indulged in corruption complaints. Minister also expresses his helplessness to conduct inquiries against the tainted Sarpanches as the department has not sufficient Officers in this regard.

DEDICATED BUNGALOW

In future there will be dedicated and decent bungalow for Leader of Opposition in Chandigarh. Such issue has been raised by the Former Leader of Opposition and MLA from AAP, HS Phoolka during the bill presentation. When the issue was being discussed about the amendment of the Salary and Allowances of the LOP, Phoolka expressed his resentment that earlier there was dedicated bungalow in Sector 2, later it was shifted to the Sector 15 and earmarked for LOP. But after the changing of LOP, the Government has shifted bungalow for him again. Chief Minister, while replying, said that at present there is no spare bungalow for ministers even and how can he allot bungalow. Later intervening by the Speaker of the Assembly, Phoolka was assured dedicated and decent bungalow for LOP.

BILL PASSED WITHOUT COPY

It was the protests of the all opposition that bills were not provided them even at time, while it should be given to them 10 days before the presentation. Even today, when the bill regarding CRPC and IPC (amendment)  were being presented in the house and the Speaker asked the oppositions for their opinion, the LOP from AAP Cheema and MLA Aman Arora protested that bill were provided them much late, therefore they could not able to speak on the bill, properly. Such complaint was made by the Former Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.Amid the resentment, the bills were passed.
