Discoms moot ₹6.1 per unit for EV charging stations

TSERC seeks suggestions before Sept. 12

The two power distribution companies of Telangana — SPDCL and NPDCL — have submitted proposals to Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) with a tariff of ₹6.1 per unit for electric vehicle charging and battery swap stations.

According to officials of the regulatory body, the Commission is in the process of determining the special category and tariff for electric vehicle charging stations and batter swap facilities. The Commission has asked interested persons and stakeholders to visit its website www.tserc.gov.in and take necessary action/give their suggestions/comments.

The comments and suggestions may be filed either in writing addressed to the Secretary TSERC, #11-4-660, 5th Floor, Singareni Bhavan, Red Hills, Hyderabad–500004, or may be sent by email to secy@tserc.gov.in The objections/suggestions/comments sent through email should also be sent in 3 copies by post by 5 p.m. on September 12. The Commission would hear the stakeholders and others from 11 a.m. on September 19 in its office.

The two Discoms have proposed a tariff of ₹6.1 per unit for LT supply and ₹6.1 per unit with ToD (Time of Day) charges for HT supply of 11 Kv and above. The ToD charges proposed by the distribution companies are ₹7.1 per unit for the time slots of 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and ₹5.1 per unit for the time slot of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The tariff proposed for the remaining time slot i.e. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. is ₹6.1 per unit.
