Haryana to develop 5 new cities on KMP

Haryana Government will develop five new cities in the two km area on either side of the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and the area will be named as Panchagram, Industries and Commerce Minister, Vipul Goel said on Tuesday.

He, however said the names in the cities will be different and the government has already prepared the draft bill of Panchgram Development Authority.

Speaking in a conference organized on ‘MSME Funding’ by PHD Chamber of Commerce here, Goel  said that after the cabinet approval of Draft bill, it would be passed in Vidhan Sabha.

"In coming times, the KMP Expressway would completely transform the industrial scenario in Haryana. The present government has provided facilities to entrepreneurs to give boost to the industrial sector in the state to create large scale  job opportunities," he said.

Goel said Industrial and Commercial Townships were being set up on 3,300 acres area in Kharkhoda, Sonipat. This would be the first of its kind township in the state. Similarly, Industrial Model Township has been developed on 1,400 acres in Sohna of Gururgram. Both of these townships would be connected to KMP. Sohna township would also be linked to Gurugram-Sohna-Alwar Highway.

He said that the state government has planned to develop the Industrial Corridor along Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Western Expressway with world class facilities. Describing the Micro, Small and Medium (MSME) category industries as the backbone of the industrial sector, the cabinet minister said such units strengthen the entire ecosystem. The MSME industry could be started with small capital.
