Nagpur: The state education board declared results for Std X (SSC) supplementary exams on Wednesday in which Nagpur division ranked fifth in the state.
With a pass percentage of 27.15, the six districts under Nagpur division fared better than bigger divisions like Pune (23.73%) and Mumbai (14.21%). Aurangabad division grabbed the top spot with a pass percentage of 32.83 while Mumbai was stuck at the bottom of the table.

Vidarbha’s shining spot was Amravati division which grabbed the second spot in the state with 31.77%.

Nagpur divisional board’s incharge V Deshpande said the low results are due to the fact that students don’t take supplementary exam seriously. Deshpande, said, “Most of them are still planning for next year’s summer test and they do not hold the supplementary exam in too high a regard. Because of that attitude we find such low passing percentage.”

Maharashtra had shifted the supplementary exams from the earlier October slot to July/August so that students can save an academic year. Students, who fail in the test conducted during February/March, get a chance immediately after the results.

With today’s results, those who have passed can still get admission in vacant seats across the city. The common admission procedure (CAP) is still underway as there are many vacant seats in all streams. Though students may not have a choice in terms of the college they want at this time, they at least get to save entire academic year.

For students who want to take admissions in city colleges, they have to go through the online CAP system. While those who are seeking admission in colleges outside city limits, they need to get in touch directly with the institute.
