To stress the need for respecting pluralism and tolerance, Dakshinayana and Grama Seva Sangh have jointly organised a meet on tolerance on September 2.
Social activist and theatreperson Prasanna said that the event will discuss and deliberate on the twin challenges of religious terrorism and machine-driven civilisation on the occasion.
Writers and activists including Ganesh N. Devy, Rahmat Tarikere, Rajendra Chenni, Vijayamma, K. Neela, Mudnakodu Chinnaswamy,Du. Saraswathi and many other writers from various parts of the country will participate in this meet.
Dakshinayana and Grama Seva Sangha have jointly organised satyagraha for four days, starting Tuesday, in various parts of city to draw the attention of the public and to collect funds for the event.
Stating that literature has always found its inner strength in times of a crisis through a dialogue with the community, Mr. Prasanna said: “The role of writers at this juncture is to initiate a dialogue within our communities to counter the current situation. We as writers and artists are committed to taking the responsibility for restoring tolerance in the society. We should each go to our backyards and converse with our communities.”
