CM attends meet chaired by PM

Attending the meeting of Chief Ministers chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Tuesday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed concern regarding energy requirement in the State.

Expressing his views on the hydro power projects pending on the Bhagirathi, Ganga and other river basins, he said that work should be resumed on these projects. Considering the limited resources due to difficult geography and good forest cover, resuming work on hydro power projects not detrimental to the environment is essential in State’s interest, he said.

Special focus was laid in the meeting on the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, work under Swachchh Bharat Mission in rural and urban areas, status of housing for all under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and other schemes.

Rawat opined that improved roads being constructed under the Char Dham all-weather road project and construction of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line would have a positive impact on tourism.

He also spoke about Kedarnath reconstruction work,various planned ropeways in the state, solid waste management, Namami Gange works, Smart City mission, various other schemes of the Central Government and works being undertaken by the State Government.
