8 arrested with stolen vehicles, firearms in separate incidents in Greater Noida

With the arrest of five men in Greater Noida, the police claimed today to have busted a gang of auto-lifters active in the Delhi-

The accused were held during a routine check in the Bisrakh area last night when they were allegedly in the area to target a person, the police said.

The accused have been identified as Vishal Rawat, Manish Kumar, Harish Gujjar, all four locals of Gautam Buddh Nagar, and of adjoining district, the police said.

Three firearms, some live bullets and two daggers were seized from their possession, a said, adding that three motorcycles were also impounded during the action.

According to the police, they have been charged under IPC 307 (attempt to murder), 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) and under the Arms Act.

All five men have been remanded in judicial custody, the police said.

In a separate incident in station area, three men were arrested after a stolen car along and two pistols were recovered from them.

The accused have been identified as Abhishek Solanki, Sahdev Singh, both from Kasganj, and Somveer from Aligarh, the police said.

The three persons have been remanded in judicial custody, the police said.
