Film on school to be screened for officials

The makers of Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shale, Kasaragodu, Koduge Ramanna Rai, depicting efforts to save a Kannada-medium school in Kasaragod, want to spread its message by screening it for Education Department officials and the Chief Minister.

Incidentally, Education Department officials are in the process of merging and shutting down government schools with low enrolment rates. Rishab Shetty, director of the film, confirmed that plans are being made to screen the film to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, the Primary and Secondary Education Minister as well as other officials of the Education Department.

“The entire theme of the film is to save Kannada medium schools and we hope to screen the film for them to see what message they will take away from the film,” he said.

Schedule

He said the screening of the film would be arranged after looking into the schedule of the Chief Minister.

The film potrays the alleged imposition of Malayalam in Kannada government schools in Kasaragod district in Kerala.
