Kochi airport to resume functioning from 2:00 PM today

Indigo will be first flight to land on the airport at 2:00 PM

Kochi Airport, which was closed on August 15 following incessant rain and flood that caused massive destruction to the state of Kerala, will resume its full-scale operations from 2 pm today. The first flight to alight on the airport will be Indigo flight from Bengaluru.

As per the official circular issued by the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) on Monday, all airlines, both domestic and international, will commence with the current schedule of operations. An intimation regarding the readiness of the airport had already been given to all airlines to make sure the smooth functioning of the services.

Services from the Naval-base, from where the services have been continuing during the flood, will be suspended from today, 29th August 2018.

Now the passengers can book their tickets to and from Kochi as most of the airlines operating here will resume operations from today.

Almost 1000 persons worked day and night to make the airport to workable condition. VJ Kurian, Managing director of CIAL coordinated the re-building activities of the airport.
