The next big fight is for the online (grocery) basket when last month, the world’s largest online retailer Amazon evinced interested in buying a stake in Kumar Mangalam Birla’s food and grocery supermarket chain More, Jack Ma—the man behind Alibaba—too was said to be in talks to tie up with Reliance Retail. Flipkart plunged into the online grocery business with its Supermart in Bengaluru at the same time.
