The disaster response force of GHMC saved a calf from miserable death, by rescuing it from a trench on Tuesday.
The incident happened at Shaikpet area of Golconda, where a calf accidentally fell into a trench dug up for laying water pipelines. Owing to recent rains, the trench was filled to the brim with water, and the calf fell into it unaware of the trench beneath.
Local people alerted the DRF personnel who incidentally happened to be working close by. They arrived with two earth moving machines, and dug up a parallel trench to empty the slush and water into it. Later, the calf was brought out with the help of ropes, a press note from GHMC informed.
