‘Attempt being made for chaos in Ravenshaw’

The Ravenshaw Bikash Abhijan on Tuesday alleged that some people, after failing to protect their commercial and personal interests in the Ravenshaw University, are now trying to snatch away the Vice-Chancellor post from the hands of educationists and hand it over to bureaucrats.

Addressing a Press meet here, Abhihan members said some people, who are responsible for various irregularities, are now raising small issues to cover up their wrongdoings and trying to create a misrule in the university.

The Abhijan demanded a high-level probe into the irregularities in self-financing courses and financial irregularities committed in hostels.

Extending its support for holding students’ union election, the Abhijan said elected student leaders would certainly play a major role in making the university corruption-free.

Among others, Abhijan secretary Sidhharth Rath, Dr Satya Ray, Prasant Das, Jugal Nayak, Biswabasu Das, Kshirod Mahapatra, Khageswar Sethi, Prasant Panda, Geeta Das and Pavel Pridarshan were present.
