Vadodara: School and college students in Chhota Udepur blocked a road at Dehvant village in the tribal dominated district on Wednesday due to irregular timings of the state transport (ST) buses.
On Tuesday evening too students created ruckus at Chhota Udepur ST depot following which extra buses were deployed.

Hundreds of students from interior villages come to Chhota Udepur town to attend schools and colleges every day, but due to irregular timings of the bus in the evening, they reach home late. The students had made several representations before ST authorities but their representations fell on deaf ears.

After blocking the road in the morning, the students gave memorandum to the executive magistrate regarding their issue. Manager of the Bodeli ST depot, who is also holding additional charge of Chhota Udepur depot, was called by the executive magistrate to solve the issue raised by the students. The depot manager said that two buses were already deployed from Tuesday while additional arrangements will be made from Thursday.

The Chhota Udepur ST depot has issued around 3,800 concessional passes to students.
