Gold Rate Today: Gold, silver trade mixed in morning deals

NEW DELHI: Precious metals gold and silver were trading mixed in the late morning deals on Wednesday.

MCX Gold futures were trading 0.16 per cent, or Rs 49 higher at Rs 30,073 per 10 grams at 11:09 am (IST), while MCX Silver futures were down 0.13 per cent, or Rs 49, at Rs 37,071 per 1 kg at the same time.

SPDR Gold Trust GLD, the world's largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, said its holdings stood at 759.87 down 4.71 tonnes, from the previous business day.

Holdings of the largest silver-backed exchange-traded-fund (ETF), New York's iShares Silver Trust SLV, stood at 10236.28 tonnes, remain unchanged from the previous business day.

Nirmal Bang Securities in its daily commodity report said, "We expect prices to trade range bound to lower for the day, as Sino-US trade tensions continued to drag on the precious metal."

On the global front, gold prices edged up in the early trade after falling as much as 1 per cent in the previous session, but Sino-US trade tensions continued to drag on the precious metal.
