VARANASI: A
sex racket was busted in
Azamgarh district on Tuesday when a joint team of anti-Romeo squad and women police raided a hotel in busy Chowk area.
Four couples were arrested after lodging an FIR while process to seal the hotel had also been started, said ASP (rural) Narendra Pratap Singh.
He said that in view of the DGP's directives, a three-day anti-Romeo drive had been launched in the city from Sunday. On the concluding of the drive, he said, police was tipped off about immoral activities at a hotel in densely populated Chowk area when the raid was conducted.
During the raid four couples, from
Rani ki Sarai of Azamgarh and Chiraiyyakot of
Mau district, were found involved in obscene activities and were caught red handed. During initial interrogation it became clear that immoral activities were taking place in this hotel, where similar raids had also been conducted in past.
