Man held for assaulting, robbing woman

MANGALURU: The Dakshina Kannada district police have arrested a person who assaulted a woman on August 8 and fled away with her valuables in Modankap, Bantwal taluk, here on Tuesday. Police have recovered gold valued at Rs 75,000 from the accused.
Police said the arrested is Praveen K G, who hails from Teerthahalli. The accused along with another person barged into the house of Janardhana Holla, when his wife was alone at home. The duo, after attacking Holla’s wife with lethal weapons, snatched her gold chain and fled from the spot.
