Tamil Nadu govt to hold MGR birth centenary functions in Chennai and Kanyakumari

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has passed an order to observe former chief minister M G Ramachandran’s birth centenary in Kanyakumari and Chennai in September.
The cabinet on May 2, 2917, decided to celebrate the birth centenary as government programme in all the districts. However, the programmes in Kanyakumari and Chennai were not conducted due to administrative reasons.

Hence, the government has decided to conduct the programme in Kanyakumari on September 22 while the final function would be held in Chennai on September 30. The government issued an order in this regard.
