With this price cut, OnePlus 6 smartphone gets its 'toughest competitor'
NEW DELHI: Samsung Galaxy S8+, the high-end smartphone from Samsung, has got a second price cut this year. Launched at Rs 64,900, the smartphone got its first price of Rs 11,000 in April after which it was selling at Rs 53,990. Now according to Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai-based retailer the smartphone has got a second price cut.

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ has received a price drop of Rs 14,000 and it is now selling at Rs 39,990. The new price of the smartphone brings it in direct competition of the OnePlus 6. The 8GB RAM version of OnePlus is also selling at Rs 39,999.

To recall, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ comes with a 6.2-inch Infinity Edge display. The display has the pixel resolution of 1440 x 2960 and is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The smartphone is powered by company's own Exynos 8895 processor and runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.


The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Users are allowed to expand the storage further by adding a microSD card. The handset flaunt a 12MP 'Dual Pixel' rear cameras with optical image stabilisation, LED flash and f/1.7 aperture. The front of the smartphones consists of an 8MP selfie camera with f/1.7 aperture.


The device is backed by a 3500mAh battery and comes with wireless fast charging support. In terms of connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type C, NFC and GPS. The handsets also offer support for Samsung Pay, iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, and facial recognition.


Recently, Samsung launched its first ever Android One smartphone in India. Dubbed Samsung Galaxy J2 Core, the smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 6,190. Running Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition), the smartphone comes with a 5-inch qHD TFT display with 540x960 pixel resolution. It is powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 processor paired with 1GB of RAM.
