Bhopal: Congress Sevadal’s press note praising RSS raises political temperature

Bhopal: Controversy over Congress Sevadal, Bhind unit, appreciating Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has intensified. Sevadal, Bhind unit, in its press note, had equated the discipline of RSS with military. It is written in the press note that the RSS and the Sevadal were established by classmates, who set them up for the sake of discipline. The press note has highly appreciated the RSS.

It is also written that Dr Hedgevar had led a movement in Nagpur when Simon Commission came to India in 1928. Earlier, the Congress had alleged that the RSS had no role in the freedom struggle of the country. The press note has come at a time when Congress national president Rahul Gandhi, during his foreign tour, had equated RSS with Muslim Brotherhood.

Meanwhile, Congress Sevadal, state convener Yogesh Yadav, termed the press note as fake. Congress spokesman Bhupendra Gupta claimed that the press n ote was distributed by the RSS.  Meanwhile, public relations minister Narottam Mishra said, “Why is it so difficult for Congress national president to understand what Sevadal and Congress state-in-charge have easily realised.”

The BJP also attacked the Congress on the issue. BJP spokesman Rajnish Agarwal said the Congress may keep on giving clarifications but the truth, irrespective of suppression, can never be suppressed and it always come out in open.
