It will cover rural and tribal areas

Collector Pravin Kumar on Monday flagged off a mobile ATM of the District Co-operative Central Bank (DCCB).

He hoped that it would end the ordeals of the people in the rural and tribal areas going all the way to nearby towns for cash withdrawals.

“Customers of any bank can avail of the cash withdrawal facilities using their debit cards,” he said.

DCCB Chief Executive Officer D.V.S. Varma said the ATM was being launched with the NABARD assistance of ₹15 lakh.

Contribution for Kerala

The mobile ATM equipped with GPS monitoring facilitiy will have ₹5 lakh in reserve and once the money is exhausted, cash will be reloaded at the nearest bank.

Meanwhile, the DCCB employees have donated their one day’s salary, amounting to ₹1.7 lakh, for the flood victims in Kerala. A cheque for the amount was handed over to the Collector on Monday.

District Co-operative Officer M.D. Milton and DCCB General Manager D. Annapurna were present on the occasion.
