LUCKNOW: Repeated long power cuts on Monday in Hazratganj, Lalbagh, Aminabad, Chowk, Sikanderbagh, La place, Alambagh and adjoining areas made resident sweat heavily amid high humidity levels. Locals lodged complaint with Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration (LESA) but complained that they were not attended.

Power supply in Hazratganj, Lalbagh, Sikanderbagh, La Place and Aminabad was disrupted around 10.30am and restored around 2pm. Similarly, power supply discontinued in Chowk, Aishbagh, Alambagh, Mawwaiya and adjoining areas around 11am and was restored around 3.30pm.

When locals called LESA helpline, they were told not given any assurance on restoration time. s“My grand father is on bed due to serious illness. Doctor has installed a monitor to check his pulse rate. But due to the long power cut, the monitor turned off, as there was only 1 hour of power back up,” said V K Singh of Lalbagh.

“I went to sub divisional officer of Alambagh to know the reason of power disruption. He told me that the failure was due to transformer problem. The power supply discontinued around 11am and was restored after 3pm,” said Vicky Pahuja, a resident of Alambagh.

LESA chief engineer A K Singh said, “There was transmission updation work in cis-Gomti plant. The power supply was restored in two hours.”
